Despite my coming down with tonsilitis (I know, what am I, a 4 year old?) I went to three shows in three nights. The first, Systematic Death at the Knitting Factory was beyond perfection. I missed Tragedy which bummed me out but a friend told me they only played for four songs and a string broke during one of them. Whatever, I saw them at ABC No Rio, nothings really going to be able to top that. Systematic Death was incredible. I came, I rocked for 30 minutes, and I left. If every show could be that efficiently awesome I'd be one happy headbanger. This is a band who has been around almost as long as I have and who still have it better than any of the contemporaries. All neo-thrashheads could learn a lesson from these guys. Seriously!
Got some funny pictures of the pit while I was at it. Sorry my white balance was off during the first half of the show. I was too distracted to fix it.
Fists in the air!
It was totally packed even though unfortunately some people left after Tragedy played. Seriously, who does that? Fucking losers.
The next night after a stop off at the Park Slope American Apparel, Glen and I went to see Team Robespierre open for The Teenagers at the Williamsburg Music Hall. I'd never heard the Teenagers, apparently they are some next big thing sorta deal, kind of like the last touring band I saw the Team open for, Foals. Again, no idea who any of these bands are, but the kids seem to like them.
At the store I came across Glen sitting next to an old Nebraska tshirt. Homestate pride!!!
(yeah I don't know why he's making that face either)
Speaking of assholes...
The Team basically ruled
Ty got in the crowd
Then Tomasz got in the crowd
The kids loved it
Watch out, Mike House is in the crowd!
"Gee, they really like me!"
Not be outshined, Ty's back in the crowd

omgwtf you missed tragedy? ha ha shit that's crazy. i'll bet everyone was bummed they didn't play that long but that sucksss.
i knooooow! i got there at 9 and it was already too late. crazy, no? my friend bryce was so disappointed at their set he bailed before systematic death, that's how badly it went. guess i'd rather miss a band than be sorely disappointed in them but still...at least i got in!
